Overview of Causalgia
Although the initial cause of the condition is not known, it can often arise as a result of an overactive sympathetic nervous system. Upper extremeties, in particular one's hands are most commonly affected. Initial traumatic or painful events to the limbs or immobilization for long periods of time can also be causes for the condition.
